J&A RACING NAMES LIVESTRONG® AS CHARITABLE PARTNER FOR SERIES OF ANNUAL RACES

 

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – June 9, 2011 – Jerry and Amy Frostick, owners of J&A Racing in Virginia Beach, Virginia, are pleased to announce a new charity partnership with Austin, Texas based LIVESTRONG®  for all four of their family-oriented racing events.  LIVESTRONG is the brand of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, created in 1997 by the cancer survivor and champion cyclist to serve people living with cancer and empower communities to take action.  LIVESTRONG ’s powerful mission is to fight to improve the lives of people affected by cancer, accomplishing this goal through numerous programs and initiatives around the globe.  The LIVESTRONG mission is a perfect match with the charitable giving and family fitness goals that focus all of J&A Racing’s events. 

“We are tremendously excited to be teaming with LIVESTRONG,” stated both Frosticks, “We have been believers in, and supporters of, the LIVESTRONG mission for a long time, and we look forward to joining them in the fight against cancer .”

The LIVESTRONG  partnership will begin with the Blue Moon Wicked 10K and Monster Mile  runs on Saturday, October 29, 2011.  The annual runs will continue with the Samuel Adams Surf-n-Santa 10 Miler and Frosty’s Fun Run on Saturday, December 3; the Virginia is for Lovers 14K and 1.4 Miler on Saturday, February 11, 2012; and J&A Racing’s flagship event, the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend, which includes the marathon, Anthem Half Marathon, TowneBank 8K, and the Operation Smile Final Mile on March 16-18, 2012.
